Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I had been so busy with work and the kids that I hadn’t even stepped on a scale to check my weight and wasn’t eating properly at all. My pants weren’t fitting anymore and the zippers weren’t staying up. I felt so horrible but didn’t want to go up a size, so I just started wearing sweatpants every day. I was very down on myself.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
When I finally did step on the scale last summer, I realized I was almost at my highest weight ever (I had been overweight as a teenager). I decided enough was enough, and I was going to do something about it!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
My greatest challenge was eating clean. I had never been one to cook… I always bought pre-made or easy food. My Coach is the one that really helped me through the toughest parts, such as choosing what to eat, giving tips on how to cook, and what I needed to purchase to be able to cook… I didn’t even know what a zoodle maker was (haha). She also helped me with finding food I will eat (I’m extremely picky).
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I love that it’s only 30 minutes of exercising… anyone can find that time! Also, the variety of workouts is nice (not the same one every day). There’s good variety to working different parts of your body each day.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I was most proud of the inches lost and how healthy I am now. I’m also proud of how far I’ve come with cooking. I enjoy cooking a variety of foods now and knowing that it’s all healthy.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My skin is clearer, I’m in a smaller pant size than I’ve ever been, and I’ve hit the lightest weight I’ve ever been! It’s so much easier to motivate myself to get work done instead of just sitting on the couch doing nothing, because I’m so much more energized.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
The Challenge Group I participated in helped force me to try new recipes and kept me motivated. Everyone in the group was held accountable by posting photos of them doing workouts, prepping food, and making the food. It was just what I needed to keep me going.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Samantha helped me immensely. When I started, I was putting Lipton noodles in the carbs container (LOL)! She helped me realize there are healthier ways to eat that can still be yummy to eat, too! The exercises were never the issue for me… it was the food part of it that I struggled with. I purchased the Fixate book, and Samantha helped give tips and ideas on substitute foods that I will eat and where to get them.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Shakeology has helped me lose more weight and given me the energy to want to do more than just one 30-minute workout. I am able to concentrate better and I don’t have cravings for chocolate anymore, so I don’t dip into the kids’ candy! I love my Chocolate Shakeology. If I had used it from the beginning, I’m sure I would have lost the weight even faster!2
