Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Life before I started was great. I had just had my beautiful daughter, and I knew I had everything in me to get to where I needed to be, which is being stronger. I knew that 21 Day Fix was the key to get healthy again and regain focus. I felt weak and so fatigued. I knew this would work for me, because before I became pregnant, I had great results and was successful. I wanted to be strong for my new baby. I wanted to be the example in her life in all aspects.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
My postpartum body gave me a big shocker and was a wake-up call. I made sure to show myself some love when I looked in the mirror and got to work, even with a three-month-old. I started doing 21 Day Fix and little by little I began to get stronger, confident, and mentally stronger. I suffered from postpartum anxiety and working out was one of the avenues that helped me.4
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
My biggest challenge was getting back to meal prepping. With a newborn taking most of my time, it was hard to eat so I turned to the quickest: fast food. I felt horrible because I wasn’t fueling my body correctly. I took a Sunday and meal-prepped for the week. This program helped me not have to worry about what to eat or how much of it to eat. It was all already done for me. All I had to do was plan my meals and pack them away. It’s so simple and this new mama needs simple.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
Overall I’ve completed 21 Day Fix, CIZE, FOCUS T25, INSANITY MAX:30, and Country Heat. I love, love, loved that they were only short workouts, and the results I earned were phenomenal. As a new mother, my time was very limited. I made sure that I treated my 30-minute workout time as “me time.” Much like bath time or a spa day. It was part of me taking care of myself so that I could take better care of my new baby girl.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I overall lost inches everywhere. My midsection shrunk so much. After having a baby, your body changes so much. After these programs, everything changed; I got toned and, best of all, I was stronger, more confident, and felt like super mom! I got my stamina back, which I had lost completely. I started slowly with just 10 minutes a day, and slowly with each day I increased in time. I didn’t give up or feel defeated because I couldn’t do the full workout. Eventually, I was able to do the full workout, and the feeling of accomplishment stirred up greater willpower to move on to the next program.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I feel a lot happier when I go clothes shopping and just feel so comfortable in my own skin. I love myself and the amazing things my body can do if I focus and just do it. I am able to chase my almost two-year-old. My goal when I became pregnant was to ensure that I was as active as can be for myself and her. I want to be present in her life — meaning chasing her up and down the stairs without feeling winded or even chasing her around the playground. I want to be able to play with her and not watch on the sidelines.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I participate in monthly Challenge Groups because it’s always been the missing key to my successful health journey. Having tons of others on the same journey with me encourages me to keep pushing even more. Challenge Groups were the key to my success. I have tried so many things in my life but never had continuous support. The amount of encouragement received helped me stay the course.
