Matcha powder is packed with antioxidants found in green tea. Fancy coffee houses have been quick to offer matcha flavored beverages of all kinds, but unfortunately many use sugary syrups and flavorings instead of the real deal. To maximize both the flavor and health benefits, you can make your own coffee house blended drink at home, like this Matcha Latte Shakeology.
This recipe starts with Vanilla Shakeology, and then uses matcha powder for flavor and color. A little matcha goes a long way, so you can use extra matcha powder for making other cold/hot beverages or even baking. It’s not a concern in cold beverages, but when heating up matcha, be aware that it can get bitter quite easily. So when making tea or other hot beverages, try to avoid using scalding hot water, which can cause it to taste bitter.
